Brazil (Update)

On 6 May 2024, the Government of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, published updated information on the heavy rains affecting 364 municipalities of the state (129 increase since the 3 May report). There have been 873,275 people affected (521,636 increase), 291 people were reported as injured (217 increase), and 111 people are missing. Additionally, 149,349 people were displaced (117,802 increase), of which, 20,070 are in shelters (12,121 increase). The report is available from: Governo do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul

 

Ecuador (Update)

On 5 May 2024, the Ecuador Risk Management Secretariat published an update on the heavy rains affecting the country since 29 January 2024. There have been 178,785 people affected (5,396 increase since the 25 April report), 3,501 people have been directly impacted (67 increase), 41,217 homes were affected (1,317 increase), and 286 homes were destroyed (9 increase).
